Explore Adobe's New Firefly Video Generative Model

Adobe's new generative AI video model, Firefly, features three tools: Generative Extend for extending clips in Premiere Pro, and Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video for creating videos from text and images. Currently in beta, these tools are safer as they use Adobe-licensed footage. They can generate short videos and will soon introduce a "Turbo mode" for faster production.

• Generative Extend Tool: This new tool, currently in beta for Premiere Pro, allows users to extend footage by up to two seconds. It addresses minor issues such as correcting eye-line shifts or unexpected movements without the need for reshoots, thus saving time and resources.
• Text-to-Video Functionality: This tool enables users to create video clips by inputting text descriptions. It supports various styles, including traditional film and 3D animation, and offers camera controls to adjust angles and motion, providing flexibility in the generated content.
• Image-to-Video Feature: Users can enhance their video generation by combining reference images with text prompts. This tool aims to help create b-roll or visualize reshoots, although it is currently limited in quality and length, with some noticeable errors in the generated outputs.
• Generation Time and Future Updates: All three tools take approximately 90 seconds to generate clips, though Adobe is developing a “turbo mode” to improve speed.
• Commercial Viability and Content Credentials: Adobe claims its AI model is commercially safe, trained on permitted content, and includes features for embedding Content Credentials to disclose AI usage and ownership rights.
